My
research is aimed at assessing genome-wide methylation
patterns, to understand their tissue specificities in
the context of transcriptional regulation. My aim is
to characterize methylation sites on a whole genome-wide
basis, using a high-throughput single molecule plaform
for high resolution discernment of the methylation patterns.
Obtaining this over many tissue types will allow comprehensive
description of the “methylome”. This is
of fundamental importance for modern biology: DNA methylation
plays a crucial role, for instance, in development,
cancer, and aging.
